How To Remove Car Dent
Car owners are likely to have had an experience with dents on more than one occasion. There is no reason to worry when this happens, because the dents can be easily removed. The car will return to its original condition when the dents are removed. There are many professional technicians who are able to remove dents using the latest dent removal tools. Individuals can also be able to remove small dents from the cars without going to technicians and thus will be able to save money which can be used for other activities. However, if the dents cannot be easily removed at home, then the services of a skilled technician are needed.
Professional Assistance
Nowadays professional technicians are able to use modern tools such as the Paintless Dent Removal tool (PDR), to remove dents as big as the size of footballs. Using this technology, the dents are normally massaged slowly and as this is done it reduces in size and eventually disappears. PDR can be used to remove dents without affecting the color of the car and thus returning it to its normal condition. Apart from removing big sized dents, mechanics using PDR are able to perform the task quicker than those using traditional methods of dent removal. The process is also not as expensive as when using other methods as the car will not need to be repainted.
Self Dent Removal
Individuals who cannot afford to hire technicians are able to remove dents from cars using dent removing kits, which are widely available in most auto shops. To be able to individually remove dents, the first step is to flatten or pull the dent out so that it is at the same level as the panel. The front of the dent is then hammered, with the dolly being firmly placed at the rear end of the dent. Once the dent is gone, make sure that there is no paint left on the dented area so that new paint can be applied.
After this is done, the area will need to be repainted using good quality body filler. Allow the filler to dry, and then using good quality sandpaper rub the area till it becomes smooth. When the desired smoothness is achieved spray the area, applying three or four coats of primer using quality automotive primers. Ensure that each coat has been smoothened before applying another coat. When the final coat is dry, use a wet sand paper to further smooth the area and afterward apply matching paint and leave the car to dry.

I would always go down the root of seeking professional help. Depends on the nature of the dent really. If it is a tap out job, then I may attempt it myself.
